Executive Pastor Search

In 2024, Friendship began the search for an Executive Pastor to join the pastoral staff and focus on organizing and implementing our vision to bring people to Jesus and develop them into fully mature, reproducing followers. The executive pastor’s primary role will be leadership development (recruiting, training and equipping ministry leaders) and practical stewardship (running things well and getting things done).

The Process So Far

  • Friendship partnered with Chemistry Staffing who prescreened candidates who completed three rounds of interviews and contacted references to ensure theological and ministry alignment

  • Pastor Robert and Pastor Steve conducted initial interviews with each candidate and shared the candidates’ profiles with the elders

  • Steve Doolittle was selected for further consideration which included

    • Additional Zoom calls with Pastor Robert as well as other elders and ministry leaders

    • A weekend visit to Friendship in December including dinner with staff, attending our Sunday services, and a Q&A with ministry leaders

    • Reference checks with provided references as well as other references from current and previous ministries and employers

    • Background screening

We will meet to consider a motion to call Steve Doolittle to Friendship as Executive Pastor. Please note that 50% of our active membership must be present in order to vote on the motion and the motion will require approval from at least 75% of those present.

Meet Steve Doolittle

Executive Pastor Candidate

Steve has an educational background that combines business administration and theological studies, providing a strong foundation for his diverse career in ministry and leadership. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Divinity with a focus on Biblical Languages. Steve currently works at Ideal Impact, a for-profit company specializing in lowering energy costs for churches and schools. Steve has previously served as a Student Pastor and Adults Small Group Pastor.
